Competition and Contest creation example - Bonus Event Chase Contest - Tournament

OBJECTIVE: A time trial competition that is based on the count of an in-game feature that rewards players 2 free spins if the player collects two Symbols on the first reel. Each time this feature is triggered; the player gets one <Symbol> point.
TYPE: Tournament Competition
SUB TYPE: in-play event tournament
KPI: Upsell, APDs
DESCRIPTIVE: A daily contest scored on in-game events earned. The contest is set for a duration pf 24 hours over the weekend on a particular set of games.

This tutorial shows you how to create a basic Competition with a Contest and with a reward added to it where players win 2 free spins if the player collects two Symbols on the first reel. Step-by-step guide to create a Bonus Event Chase Contest - Tournament


Step 1: Start creating a Competition

 In CompetitionLabs, navigate to Competitions → + New Competition. Here you start creating your new competition.


Step 2: Competition Settings

 Fill out the information for the Competition. In this example, we are creating "Bonus Event Chase Contest - Tournament".

Here you fill out basic information like Name, Availability, Description about the Competition.

Chasing bonus rounds

Available from/Available until

Pick a date and time of when your Competition is run.

Container durationDisplays how long the Competition lasts depending on the Available from and Available until date and time specified.

Description

Points on the leader-board are earned by hitting bonus events. Each time this event is triggered points are released.

        After all the information is filled out click Next

Step 3: Competition Entrants

Fill out the information for the competitions Entrants, Limits, Terms & Conditions as shown in the example below.

Step 4: Competition Products

Fill out the information for the competitions eligible Product as shown in the example below.

Step 5: Competition Translations

For this example, we will leave Translations blank.

Click Next.

Step 6: Competitions Summary

 Review, verify and save your Competition or return to editing previous screens.

You should see the same screen as shown in the example above. If you see something different you can go to the previous steps by clicking Previous. To save the Competition, click Finish and then confirm that you want to create the Competition

The Competition is automatically in the Ready state. You can view the created Competition (as shown in the example below) in Competitions → Ready

You should see a screen that looks like the one in the example above (although the Id will be different).  


Step 7: Contest Creation

After creating the Competition, you are prompted to create a Contest. If you are not prompted, go to Competitions → Ready. Click on the Competition Id for the Competition that you created in the previous steps and then click + Add contests as in the example below.

    


Step 8: Contest Settings

 Fill out basic information for the contest as shown in the example below.

Fill out the information for the contest entrants, limitations, and Terms & Conditions as shown in the example below.

Step 10: Contest Rules

Define the rules and conditions which have to be fulfilled for the Contest to be triggered. An example below is shown for this Contest example.

      How to set up Rules:

  1. The "Points calculation" rules fact is "The action" the rules operator is "is" and the rules constant is "Collect 2 symbols" (this is an example Action. You may not have this Action in your space). The condition match of the rule is "ALL" and the evaluation criteria - "TRUE". 


  2. The "Start the contest" rules fact is "The contest parents" the rules operator is "are all" and the rules constant is "finalised". The condition match of the rule is "ALL" and the evaluation criteria - "TRUE".


  3. The "Finish the contest" rules fact is "The contest has been active for" the rules operator is "more than" and the rules constant is "competition duration". The condition match of the rule is "ALL" and the evaluation criteria - "TRUE".

  4. The "Finalise the contest" rules fact is "The contest finished" the rules operator is "is equal or more than" and the rules constant is "1". The condition match of the rule is "ALL" and the evaluation criteria - "TRUE".

Move on to the next step by clicking Next.



Step 11: Contest Rewards

To Create a Reward, click add.

Fill out all the information provided about the Reward.

In our case we need to create 3 rewards. Create the Rewards for the first Reward. When finished, then click + add to create the second and then the third Reward with the information for each Reward as below.

Step 12: Contest Languages

For this example, we will leave Translations blank. Click Next.

Step 13: Contest Summary

Verify that the information entered is correct, then click Finish.


Step 14: Created Contest Review

You should see a screen that looks likes the screen below. 

By clicking on The Contests you can Edit the Contest since it is in NotStarted Status

When your Competition is in Active state, players can participate and data is shown in the Competition Leaderboard. You can click Competition Leaderboard to see a live leaderboard for the competition and a sample JavaScript snippet for displaying the leaderboard on your front end.
